Task six- Immigration reflection
Dear Michel,
I’ve heard that you’re going to go come to Canada so I wanted to right this letter to you because I want you to know the ups and downs of immigrating, the hardest adjustment you’ll have to make as well as other little thing you should know about immigrating to Canada.
Well to first start it off the ups of being in Canada are that you get to meet new people that are really great. The health I assure you its much better then in the Philippines. You and your family will have a better job opportunity as well as a better education that Canada provides. And you will have a better way of living. The downs of immigrating to Canada are that people may categorize you as something that your not, but once they get to know you, you wouldn’t have that problem.
Some of the hardest adjustment you might encounter and might make are that you will have to start all over again, when I mean all over again, I mean you’ll have to look for a new house, which will be quite difficult, get a new job, go to school, meet new people, memorize places, like where you live, work areas, this is that hardest thing that you will have to encounter because your starting from scratch.
If you need a place to turn to for help you could always rely on friends, family, neighbours people that are close to you. If you have financial problem you could always turn to a social agency.
Racism is one of the things that you have to know about. Canada isn’t like other places , they don’t categorize you by the way you look, the race you are so don’t be afraid of encountering that because it wouldn’t occur.
I know that your going to feel different while being in Canada, your not going to feel a part of the Canadian society being new and all, it’s a common thing to feel like that but don’t be because you’ll fit right in once you settle down from coming from the Philippines.
I hope that I provide you will the help that you need to know when you enter Canada, I hope to see you soon.
From, Telisa
